Hartigan Recruitment is a recruitment business which provides work-finding services to its clients and work-seekers. We process personal data so that we can provide these services – in doing so, we act as a data controller.

You may give your personal details to us directly, such as on an application or registration form or via our website, or we may collect them from another source such as a job board. Following your contact with us and in order to put you forward for vacancies you are interested in, it will be necessary and in our legitimate interests to process your personal data in the manner set out below.

We will collect and process your personal data for the purposes of providing you with work-finding services. This includes for example, contacting you about job opportunities, assessing your suitability for those opportunities, updating our database, putting you forward for job opportunities, and developing and managing our services and relationship with you and our clients. We will only hold necessary data, which includes your name, telephone number, email address, CV details and when necessary, proof of your right to work in the UK.

In some cases, we may be required to use your data for the purpose of investigating, reporting and detecting crime and also to comply with laws that apply to us. We may also use your information during the course of internal audits to demonstrate our compliance with certain industry standards.

The legal bases we rely upon to offer these services to you are:

We are also required to manage out database and ensure that any work-seeker records are up to date.

We will process your personal data with our clients, i.e. businesses we send work-seekers CVs to, for consideration for job opportunities.

2. Data retention

We will retain your personal data only for as long as is necessary for the purpose we collect it. Different laws may also require us to keep different data for different periods of time.

We will retain your personal data for a period of 3 years, in order to ensure that we are able to provide you with work finding services throughout this period, unless otherwise notified.

  • The right to rectification of your personal data;
  • The right to erasure of your personal data in certain circumstances;
